Pastoral, Medical and Social Support

At Westlea Primary School we consult with a wide range of agencies and partnerships to ensure the pastoral, medical and social needs of SEND children are met.

Any child with a medical condition is fully supported in school. We have trained first aiders, including paediatric first aiders, who oversee any needs. Health Care Plans are written in conjunction with the parents and if required prescribed medication will be administrated in school in line with set procedures. Any additional training will be undertaken as necessary in conjunction with outside agencies e.g. school nurse/asthma nurse.

We have a very caring staff who will always take time to meet any pastoral or social needs the children have. We have staff trained in Listening Matters and staff can refer children to these when the need arises. We also liaise with external agencies, such as CAMHS/ASD team, in order to fully meet the needs of all of the children.

If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
